MALAYA | Filipino Heritage Month

MALAYA, which means "Freedom," will showcase more than 20 art pieces from six up-and-coming artists, Day Pajarillo, Audere Santos, Thea Galang, Ryle Ramirez, Gladzy Kei, and the Filipinx Kasaganaan Artist Collective of Calgary. The exhibit is part of the Philippine Consulate's celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Philippine Independence, as well as the Filipino Heritage Month in Alberta and Saskatchewan this June.

We are delighted to invite you to the upcoming art exhibit titled MALAYA, hosted by The Philippine Consulate General in Calgary (Suite 100, 1001 1st St SE Calgary, AB, T2G 5G3). This month-long exhibition will run from June 1 to June 30, 2023, and will feature the works of several talented Filipino-Canadian artists based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

We are pleased to offer you this opportunity to witness the creativity and talent of these artists. Through their works, you will be able to immerse yourself in their stories of freedom and independence. Moreover, this event provides a unique opportunity to support our vibrant Filipino-Canadian community, and to celebrate their contributions to the arts.

We look forward to your presence at the exhibit, and we hope that through this platform, the artworks of our Filipino artists in Calgary will be better appreciated by the general public.

The exhibit will be held inside the Jose Rizal Hall at The Philippine Consulate General, 1001 1 St SE Suite 100, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Admission is free, and the exhibit is open to the public.
